The number of software developers in the United States has reached a record high.
But they’re facing some challenges in their job search and as they look for jobs.

The association has reported that the number of computer-programming jobs increased by 5.7% from the previous year.
That means there were roughly 6.8 million people working in software development in 2016.
That’s a rise of 7.2% compared to the year before, according the report.
Software developers are also more likely to be employed by software companies, but that’s still not enough to get them out of the house.
In the past year, software companies have seen a steep decline in their business, and many are struggling to find new jobs.
“It’s just a whole lot of people going home and not being able to find work,” said John Schiller, a software developer at DigitalOcean.
Schiller is the creator of one of the world’s most popular cloud-based development platforms, CodeGram, and he’s one of thousands of developers who are now looking for jobs in the software industry.
For many, the prospect of going back to school or working full-time is a scary prospect, said Schiller.
“I’ve seen a lot of students and professors leaving the university.
It’s really hard to find good jobs in software.”
Schiller, who was laid off from his job at Digital Ocean in 2016, is now looking to find another job in his field.
He’s started looking at companies that are willing to pay his salary and to take him on as a developer for a short period of time.
Schillers wife is also an employee at CodeGrams parent company, Niantic Labs.
She is an engineer, not a programmer, and she doesn’t want her husband to miss out on any potential opportunities in the industry.
“We don’t want anyone to go out there and leave with a job because they don’t have the qualifications,” said Schillers daughter, Lina.
Lina Schiller has been working as a software development engineer since she was 10 years old.
Her parents are the primary breadwinners of their family, and that’s what they want for her.
But Lina is now also looking to be a software engineer, something she’s not used to.
“I used to just do coding, and now I have a different mindset,” she said.
Lina is studying for a bachelor’s degree in computer science and hopes to become a software analyst, something that could be an important step toward getting a full-blown job in the field.
While her parents want Lina to get a full ride into the software-development industry, she is more concerned about her future in general.
“That’s really what I want for my life, to get my foot in the door and be able to do something for my family,” she added.
Even though Lina has found a job, she’s still in search of a job that is good for her and her family.
“Right now, I just want to get that second opportunity and just keep doing what I love,” she explained.

article The software development job market has been a tough one for the last several years, according a recent survey by McKinsey & Co. The company found that the demand for software development is not as strong as it once was, and a number of companies are struggling financially.
According to McKinsey, the number, size and scope of software development jobs in North America declined by nearly 3.2 million jobs between 2016 and 2017.
That included 1.4 million software developers who lost their jobs.
The number for jobs requiring more than a bachelor degree or more than three years of experience was down by 537,000 jobs.
According to the report, there are now about 4.3 million software development professionals in the U.S.

Department of Labor and analyzed by McKinseys chief executive officer, Chris Jansen.
The survey was conducted by a representative sample of more than 1,500 software developers, software-developers and other professionals in North American, the survey found.
The survey found that software development employers are experiencing an influx of applicants, as many are trying to fill open positions.
According to the McKinsey survey, the average number of applications per job posted increased from 1,936 in 2016 to 1,984 in 2017.
